Weapon Defense

Knife Defense:
Knives, by way of design, are more difficult to take away from the user than a gun. In addition, knives do not require the user to possess a level of proficiency to become effective. Many law enforcement and military defensive tactics programs teach choreographed knife-defense and take-away techniques. Many of these techniques are unsafe, unrealistic, not practical, and not effective. We at Bando Systems have developed a realistic knife-defense training program that addresses the dangerous problems surrounding this topic. This program identifies:
  • recommended knife carrying positions (wearing)
  • recommended types of knives that are best suited for the public safety officer
  • knife defense

Gun Defense:
Gun defense is a specific subject requiring realistic training of effective techniques. In other training programs, the practice of choreographed gun defense (like choreographed knife defense) may do more harm than good. It is not Bando Systems' goal to provide flashy choreographed gun defense that is impractical, not effective, unrealistic, not efficient and ultimately unsafe. Gun defense (like knife defense) is a hard concept to swallow for the realist. Bando Systems provide last resort hand-to-hand gun defense and take-away techniques for the following positions:
  • Standing
  • Ground defense
  • While sitting in a vehicle
